The brown bear is among the largest predators on Earth and definitely one of the most dangerous wild animals to be around of. However, that doesn’t stop a couple in Russia to share their home with a massive bear, for more than two decades.
Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko, a couple from Moscow, Russia first met Stepan the bear when he was just 3-month-old. The poor little thing was found in the woods, all alone, crying for help. Most likely he went orphaned. For Svetlana and Yuriy it was heartbreaking to see the cute cub in such a terible condition, so they decided to take him home and take care of him.
But the bear has never left and after 23 years, he still lives with the humans who saved his life. Despite weighing around 450 pound, the couple says Stefan is just as any other furry friend. And believe it or not, the three even the same sofa to watch the favorites TV shows together.
Even though, the bear has never lived in the wild and is domesticated, it's hard fully shut down his instintcs. So he has to be treated with the upmost respect. After all – wild or domesticated, the brown bear still remains one of the most feroceous predators. Even so, the couple say they don't worry that Stefan could ever harm them.
"He loves people and is a sociable bear – despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all," said Stefan's human mom. "We have never been bitten by [him]."
