Bearded Reedling is a small-sized bird with a long tail. They are approximately 16.5cm in size and could easily fit into your palm. Their unique appearance makes them easily recognizable in nature. Just look for a tiny, egg-shaped, fluffy bird, that enjoys resting by doing a split on three branches.
Males can be easily spotted for their gingerish-brown overall with bluish-grey heads. They also feature black mustache-like markings that go from under their eyes down to their throats with similar black streaks beneath their tails.
While still very similar to males, females are a little bit different. They are much paler and don't have any mustache markings nor black streaks under their tales. They also have darker beaks than males. This species has an extreme range which is decreasing but not at alarming rates.
The bearded reedling birds are not one of the migratory species. They are dominant and brave. Photographers don't have a hard time approaching them. You can approach them and photograph them, especially if you see them eating crowdedly. They are also very good at giving beautiful poses. Often not in her photographs expressions of fear; you will come across expressions like curiosity, anger, and astonishment. You can hardly see the bearded reedling birds while walking on the ground. However, they sometimes land on the ground to drink and feed water. Usually they make their short-distance travels on the saz by jumping more than the flight and passing from branch to branch. The pauses between these jumps are the first moments when they give their beautiful poses. They often pose to you often because they noticed you.
They are common all over the world except neotropics. Living spaces can be anywhere. Their food is insects and fruits. They make their nests in the form of bowls to tree holes. The family includes small birds as well as some large birds. Birds of this family are generally longer than their tails. Their partially round beaks have a strong structure. Bearded reedlings are not known for migration, and could be found residing across Europe and Asia all year long.
