Sharon Cutler is a wildlife and landscape photographer based in Bournemouth who was forced to postpone her work temporarily due to the global coronavirus outbreak.
Sharon told; "I've only had my back garden to do any photography,". "I decided to see if I could get some images of the wild squirrels that are always in my garden." Then, she remembered that there was a tiny bed handcrafted by Sharon a while ago to serve as a prop in some photos of her daughter's guinea pig. So, she remodeled the bed, decorated it with tiny pieces of linen, and placed it in her garden to see if the squirrels might enjoy it.
Wildlife and landscape photographer Sharon Cutler has set up a tiny bed for squirrels in her garden. "Cyril the Squirrel was so tired from a busy day in the garden," Sharon wrote on her Facebook upon sharing the photos of the squirrel inspecting her new bedroom.
"So it was time to say his prayers, plump up his pillow, fluff up his quilt and jump into bed." Her Facebook friends and other people seem to love the tiny bed. "That's brilliant," one woman commented below the pictures. "Simply lovely!" someone writes.
Originally handcrafted for her daughter's guinea pigs, the bed was remodeled and decorated with linen. The first visitor was a curious squirrel whom Sharon named Cyril. It seemed like the bed was the perfect place for the squirrel to relax.
Sharon told; The bed was originally made out of driftwood two years ago. "I made the bed a couple of years ago as a photography prop for my daughter's guinea pigs," the photographer and animal lover explained. "I've been off work for over a month because of the coronavirus and as I've only had my back garden to do any photography, I decided to see if I could get some images of the wild squirrels that are always in my garden," she told.
"I just hid some peanuts amongst the bedding and the squirrels took to it straight away." So he fluffed up the quilt and fixed the bed to nap for a bit.
The bed was not the only piece of furniture that the photographer made. The tiny bathtub was an ornament from Sharon's bathroom. For the adorable squirrel bathroom, Sharon fished out a tub ornament that was in her bathroom and handcrafted the rest. "I made the towel rail, towel, and bath mat to complete the scene," she told Bored Panda. So she made the towel rail, towel, and bath mat to complete the scene.
The curious little guy seemed to be interested in the tub, too. No wonder the photographer loves shooting squirrels. She has "lots of ideas for future projects". Her only obstacle at the moment is that her hot glue gun is broken but as soon as she orders a new one online, she'll be sure to share more of her adorable creations! "Such cheeky, mischievous little characters," she says. All image credits: Sharon Cutler
