Three boys out on a carefree bike ride in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, showed great strength of character when they suddenly spotted a motionless pup by the side of the road and stopped to help him.
The pup was lying completely still in the grass when the boys noticed him, and they quickly got off their bikes to investigate the situation.
The boys, who were in their early teens, soon realised that the dog was in very poor shape. It was in desperate need of medical assistance and was too weak to move.
The boys called Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue who quickly rushed to the scene. While they waited for help to arrive, the boys waited by the hurt dog’s side and built a bike-barricade to make sure that no cars drove too close to the pup. They wanted to keep the poor pup as calm and comfortable as possible while they waited.
And though the pup was too hurt and exhausted to move, it seemed to understand that the boys were there to help. It kept glancing up at the boys with a spark of hope in its sad eyes. When the rescuers arrived at the scene, they quickly assessed the dog’s injuries and moved it into a car. They then brought it to the shelter where they could give the pup some pain medication to ease its suffering, and where they were able to get a better idea of its injuries.
The poor pup appeared to have been struck by a car, and he had suffered injuries to his hip and leg. And one thing was clear; if it wasn’t for the boys’ actions, the pup would probably have died all alone in the grass. While at the shelter, the staff nicknamed the pup “Wade” but soon discovered that he already had both a name and a family of his own. His true name was Taz, and his family had been missing him for over a week.
Taz’s heartbroken family was overjoyed when they got word that he’d been found, and Taz was incredibly happy to finally be reunited with the people he loves. The family was obviously incredibly grateful to the three boys who had saved the life of their precious furbaby.
The boys should be very proud of themselves, and hopefully, their actions will inspire others to take action when they see an animal in need.
