The Hilltown Township Police Department received a call Thursday after a fire broke out on a farm outside the town. A few minutes later, police officers Matthew Rice and Christian Hanus arrived at the scene. When they arrived, everyone on the farm, including the horses, was safely taken, but fewer horses, Phoebe, were stuck in the burning barn. Soon he learned from one of the farm workers that the horse was still trapped inside. Officer Reese hurriedly rescued him without thinking about it, but Officer Hanus chased him. The brave officers were on fire and, with the help of a farm trainer, were finally able to take Phoebe safely. But it wasn’t that easy as the officer had to pull it out because the horse was scared and confused and refused to leave! “She was definitely scared, but the cops were great. They jumped in quickly,” farm riding instructor Lena Oberneser told CBS News. “I was impressed to see the video. What a pity, thank God for being here.” Fortunately, both the horse and its rescuer survived with minor injuries. Officials on their first animal rescue mission said it was adrenaline that drove them straight into the burning barn. “It was an absolute moment of excitement and adrenaline rush,” said Reiss officer. “Injuries to both him and me were minimal and we were doing a very good job!” While Officer Hanus said, “Adrenaline was pumping.
