Formerly, Pink-headed Warbler (Cardellina versicolor) was placed in the genus Ergaticus together with the Red Warbler (C. rubra) of the north Mexican highlands.

Pink-headed Warbler is endemic to the highlands of Guatemala and the neighboring Mexican state of Chiapas.

Unlike many other regional endemic birds of southern Mexico and northern Central America, Pink-headed Warbler does not occur south-east of Guatemala, because it prefers high-elevation mountains.

In Guatemala, Pink-headed Warbler is locally common above 2300 m (7500 ft), where is lives in cloud forests, pine-oak forests, humid coniferous forests, as well as humid scrub. You may also like
