Humpback whales are the largest animals on the planet. Given their enormous weight (up to 40 tonnes), these enormous creatures are unlikely to completely jump out of the water. Perhaps that’s why this incredible footage of a humpback whale taking off temporarily as it breaks through the waters off South Africa becomes viral.

Diver Craig Capehart shot a stunning video off the coast of Muboti, South Africa. He estimates that adult whales weigh about 40 tonnes. He later shared an incredible video on Youtube. And it has received millions of views so far. Cape Hart said he and three other divers are on an inflatable motorboat looking for sardines to track predators that attract predators if the humpback whale breaks nearby.
