An adorable lamb has been born with mask-like fur on its face – drawing comparisons with Batman, Zorro and the rock band Kiss.
A baby sheep born with unusual facial markings has gained the nickname Batlamb because farm staff in Norway think he's a dead ringer for masked comic book superhero Batman.
The adorable Old Norwegian Short Tail Landrace was born with the distinctive superhero mask-like fur at Vitengarden, a Science Farm in the southwestern town of Naerbo on Easter Monday.
"When Batlamb was born, we saw immediately how special it was with two identical spots around the eyes," said Vintergarden spokeswoman Elin Ravndal Bell. "A photo was posted on Facebook and the name suggestions came running in but there was no doubt that this lamb had to be named Batlamb with the two identical marks."
Inevitably, Batlamb's brother was named Robin after Batman's sidekick. "Batlamb stayed close to his mother the first few days as most lambs do, getting used to life outside, walking and getting milk from his mother," added Elin. "With sunny and warm weather, Batlamb got to mingle with the other lambs on the farm a few days after birth and shows a very playful and intelligent personality.
"He is getting used to having his picture taken and is shining in front of the camera lense - like any other superhero does." As well as being the newest crimefighter of the Norwegian countryside, Batlamb could probably get away with joining Kiss as his striking black and white markings look just like the American rock band's signature stage make-up. We just hope he can sing. Source: Homebt.com
