Close contact with wild animals must be the dream of any nature lover, but it may not be as intimate as this Irish tourist. In a safari park in the Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya, when an adult wild cheetah got too close to comfort him, the man experienced a lifetime surprise. It was so heartbreaking to be captured by the camera at that moment!
Mickey McCaldin from Ireland met the most famous cheetah family in the Masai Mara during a safari trip. Everyone admires these majestic cats, but some are closer than expected. Some cheetahs were not disturbed by the presence of human beings. Some cheetahs climbed into a car, but one of the cheetahs was more curious and jumped directly into the back seat of the car.
Although cheetahs look cute and friendly, they are just fearless predators and therefore very dangerous. Therefore, you can imagine how you will react when you face such a wild animal. So it’s no surprise that McCarten sitting there can’t find his reaction anymore. David Horsey, a good friend of McCartin sitting in front of him, captured this moment with a camera. “I have lived in Kenya all my life and I have never seen anything like this,” Horsey of Mombasa, Kenya told Caters News. “He (cheetah) is just not afraid of being close and close. Mickey was relaxed at first, but I think he was worried that he might try to sit on his lap. Compared to a domestic cat, you definitely don’t want it.” Although it looked like forever to McCarten, the cheetah left the vehicle after a while. Then the wild cats stared at the tourists at a short distance, and then got lost in the distance. “When Mickey got bored, he turned around and looked out of the car for a few minutes,” said 62-year-old Horsey. “It just jumped out of there.”
