A beaver left his or her dam in Charlotte Hall Monday on a quest to find Christmas decorations at a local dollar store, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office reports.
The Christmas tree is what makes the holidays so special. Unpacking the presents, laughing and spending quality time with the loved ones – it ca done without a Christmas tree. Apparently this lovely routine isn't just for humans, but animals as well. Otherwise it's impossible to explain this beaver's attempt to find the perfect decorations for Christmas.
It happened at a dollar store in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, where people got speechless to see how a wild beaver walks through the front door and goes right to the Christmas aisle. At first they all thought it's aa joke, but the things got serious when the unusual customer started to ransack through the artificial Christmas trees.
Unsatisfied by what it found, the beaver went further and it's next stop was at the discounted holiday decor. Being anything but gentle, the shopper dropped a few things on the floor, so the officers arrived at the scenes. "Corporal Yingling had an interesting call on Monday when the suspect, pictured below, caused property damage to a dollar store in Charlotte Hall,"St. Mary's County Sheriff Office wrote in a Facebook post.
"The suspect attempted to flee the area but was apprehended by Animal Control… As a law enforcement officer, you just never know what you're next call might be," the sheriff's department said.
In the end the curious beaver was released into the wild, empty handed, unfortunately! However, it turns out, this isn't the only beaver that went shopping at the local store.
