Bubba, the pit bull had a pretty tough start in life. Shortly after he was born, he ended up in a shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. Fortunately, when he was three-month-old Rebecca Pizzello decided to adopt him. The sun was shining again on Bubba’s street.
A few days after, Rebecca's roommate brought home some tiny kittens she just rescued, to take care of them. "Since then, Bubba has had an endless affection for cats," the woman told The Dodo. "Like, literally obsessed. I always knew he'd love having one of his own, but I wanted to wait until we moved to New York City this year."
So six years after, Rebecca decided to bring a little companion for her beloved pit bull. She applied to adopt a kitten in need Brooklyn Animal Action, and when they called her, she was more than happy to find out there's a little fur ball there in need of help.
The moment when Rebecca came home with the tiny ginger kitten, Bubba was absolutely obsessed with her and he instantly adopt her. "I knew Bubba would be filled with joy the second we walked in the door and boy was I right," the woman told Bored Panda. It has always been hours until Rue, the kitten, stepped inside her new home, and she and Bubba were already acting like they've known each other since forever. "I think Rue thinks Bubba is her mom and Bubba loves it," the duo's mom said. "He bathes her like a baby and snuggles close to her to make her comfortable. They will definitely be a fun duo to watch grow up together!"
Bubba is gently taking care of his little sister, and in return Rue pays him with cuddles and affection. Rebecca says her pup even gave up his routine to look after his new baby sister. "If I walk away somewhere, [Bubba] always follows me. Now I will say, 'Go watch your sister,' and he turns around and goes and watches where she is," Rebecca said. "They will definitely be a fun duo to watch grow up together."
