Let’s be honest: you could never have a better roommate than a cat.
Sure, they can be mischievous, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
They’re cute, independent, quiet, clean, affectionate and smart.
Plus, they won’t drink the last of your orange juice and put the empty carton back in the fridge, or steal the TV when you want to watch your favourite show.
A real estate agency in Japan has realised this, and teamed up with Felissimo, who specialises in cat-themed design, and created the perfect apartment for all cat-lovers.
Property developer Wada Kosan has collaborated with Felissimo on a new rental projet and the result is the Waco Le Viano Tarumi Shirogayama Neko no Ie apartment building. Neko no Ie means “cat’s house” and has the name suggests, these rental apartments are designed with a cat’s needs in mind.
The apartments are designed to suit a single-occupant, living with one or more cats. The apartments come equipped with a bedroom (which doubles as a living room), bathroom, shower and kitchenette – all you need for a cosy, simple life.
And of course, they’re also equipped with everything your feline companion could wish for. The walls of the apartments are fitted with shelves and boxes that cats will love to climb, play on and cuddle up inside.
And they’ve not forgotten about safety; a sliding glass partition between the front door and the rest of the apartment has been installed to decreases the chance of your kitty accidentally slipping out through the front door and disappearing.
And speaking of doors, the door to the kitchenette features a lockable pet door so you can decide whether you want to control your kitty’s access to the kitchen or give it free rein.
And if you miss your kitties while cooking, you can always peek at them through the handy window that’s been installed so that you can keep watch over the bedroom/livingroom.
