But while more and more people are starting to realize how important pet adoption is, shelters are still struggling with overpopulation and plenty of lovable pups are waiting endlessly for a new family.
Apart from running her own pizza business, Alloy is also a volunteer at the SPCA. And after an ingenious idea by her friend, Kimberly LaRussa, Alloy has brought those two worlds together in order to get some sweet pups the families they deserve.
LaRussa is the event coordinator for SPCA, and she and Alloy were recently trying to come up with ideas on how to grab peoples attention and raise awareness for the shelter.
LaRussa suggested that they could put pictures of the shelter pups on Alloy’s pizza cartons, and Alloy was immediately onboard. After clearing the scheme with the Just Pizza & Wing Co. franchise, Alloy started attaching flyers featuring different shelter dogs on the pizza boxes.
And now, as if the adorable pups’ faces aren’t enough promotion, anyone who adopts one of the dogs featured on the flyers will get a 50$ gift certificate for Alloy’s restaurant.
The campaign has been a great success and 8 pups have found their forever homes in just the first week alone. Now, LaRussa and Alloy are planning to expand the campaign to include adoptable cats.
LaRussa’s and Alloy’s clever campaign has already given several pups a new shot at life and will undoubtedly continue to bring more pets and families together.
Their campaign might even benefit shelter pups all over the US, as their success has already inspired other business:
