It is heartbreaking when your loving pet runs away for no reason. Sometimes, they manage to jump over your fence and onto the road. They get distracted by all the cars and noise, and sometimes they try to follow your scent until they can’t find your anymore.
Lucky are those whose dogs are able to find their way home. But there are some that go missing for years even though they have searched for them nonstop.
This is exactly what happened to this Wisconsin man. Then one day while watching television, he saw a dog that looks so familiar to him. And as it turns out, it’s his dog that he has been looking for the last two years since the pooch went missing!
Luckily, the Wisconsin man has been reunited with his missing dog after seeing a TV news segment about adoptable pets. The owner, who identified himself to the news station as “Dwight,” immediately called in to inquire about the dog.
The man told the news staff that he recognizes the dog, that it’s his long-lost pet named “Payday.” You see, Payday has been missing for two years. He usually doesn’t sleep with the TV on but that particular night he must have forgotten to turn it off. Or maybe it was destiny that it was kept on because the next morning, he woke up to the Adopt-A-Pet segment of the morning show. In the description, it reads: “little brown dog with an adorable underbite. ” And after focusing on the dog on the TV, he knew that it was Payday. The Wisconsin Humane Society wrote about the exciting reunion of the two in a post on its Facebook page. They wrote: “Payday was originally brought home as a companion for Dwight’s now 12-year-old daughter, who was still distraught over the incredible loss of her best friend. Dwight’s mom, Melissa, came to pick up the beloved pup, and — as you can see — it was the most incredible reunion. We are beyond ecstatic for this amazing family to finally be whole again. ” Wisconsin Humane Society stated that Dwight and Payday have finally reunited on that same day thanks to WHS’s efforts. As it turned out, the pooch was just at the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Campus location, not too far from Dwight’s home. Dwight’s mother, Melissa, was the one who went to get Payday. And even though it has been two years since they last saw each other, it turned out to be a joyful and tear-jerking reunion for both the family and the dog. Thankfully, this heartwarming moment was captured on camera by the WHS staff. It was shared on the organization’s Facebook page. In the video, Payday was obviously happy as it jumps into Melissa’s arms. It was clear that both of them were full of excitement after they finally reunited. Since the video was shared online, it quickly earned celebratory comments and shares all across social media. According to Dwight, “it only took one glance at the picture for (him) to immediately recognize Payday.” It is not easy to look for a missing dog. Dwight probably lost hope after two years went by and still no sign of Payday. But thankfully, the heavens worked miraculously and let Dwight leave the television on. Through that, he reunited with Payday!
