The cry got louder and louder as he approached a ditch that had drifted over with about three feet of snow. Under the light of the full moon, he found a black kitten with big round eyes, meowing, as if he was desperately asking for his help.
“Officer Froiseth traversed the ditch and found this little one stuck in the snow and rocks,” Platteville Police Department wrote on Facebook. He shuffled through the heap of snow and removed the rocks, trying to rescue the poor kitty from the bitter cold.
Once he was able to get the cat, he brought him to the car, and the cat immediately climbed and snuggled with him for warmth, so he brought the cat with him to the station.
The Platteville Police Department posted photos of Officer Froiseth and the kitty with the caption: “If you would like to claim this lucky guy, he will be at the Platteville Vet Clinic as soon as he gets done with his nap with his new best friend,” in case someone would like to claim him. The cat, however, had no plans of leaving Officer Froseith’s side. The entire time they were together, the cat would crawl on his back, curl up beside or on him, and nap on Officer Froseith’s feet. He could be found everywhere Officer Froseith was. Finally, Officer Froseith gave in to those pair of big round eyes and clingy paws. He named him Donut and officially made him a part of his family.
