Meet Clive – the Norwegian Forest cat who was reunited with his family after missing for 14 months. Amazingly, he was found in good condition, albeit much, much fatter. As it turned out, he’d been living the life of a gourmet in a pet food factory two miles away.
Clive disappeared from his home in December 2014 and left his owners Tanya and Jonathan Irons devastated. The couple and their two-year-old daughter Elizabeth, started a Facebook appeal and put up posters around the neighborhood everywhere in search of Clive, but to no avail.
Tanya later said: “He used to be very naughty and liked to go outside a lot. We thought somebody must have taken him in as he’s such a cute cat.” Workers at the pet food factory noticed that their cat food had been going missing, and they found evidence of a cat-burglar living in the warehouse. So, they decided to trap the cat-burglar, and Clive was caught after 14 months living and feasting in kitty heaven. After that, they took him to a vet who scanned his microchip, revealing that he was registered to the Irons family, who lived just two miles away from the factory.
“I think he’s been enjoying himself feasting for the past year. He’s wasn’t a big eater before, but he always had to eat very quickly before his brothers stole it. He was probably glad he didn’t have to compete with them to eat for once.
He has a huge appetite now though. I’ve had to leave him with a big bucket of food; he just won’t stop eating. We’re not going to put him on a diet though, he’s just a bit rounder, but he’s a perfect cat picture.”
Now, the family has reunited with the gluttonous Clive – who has fattened up to almost twice his original size. We are happy because they’re back together again. Please share this story with everyone if you love it!
