We can bet that you’ve never seen a Chow-Chow like Chief before! Four-month-old Chief, who also goes by “Oreo Cloud,” was given that nickname by his human, Sara Hamilton, because he looks like an Oreo McFlurry dessert.
Take one look at this Chow-Chow dog named Chief and you'll understand why he's such a special pup. Also known as Oreo Cloud, the fluffy canine earned the nickname because his human, Sara Hamilton, thought his dark gray speckled coat looked like an Oreo McFlurry dessert. But aside from his good looks, he's also a real treat to be around and has been making his pawrents' lives brighter ever since they adopted him.
He is basically a walking bowl of cookies and cream ice cream! Chief got these colors because he is a "merle" Chow. He comes from several generations of pure Chows, but it's possible that somewhere down the line there may have been a genetic defect or a mixed breed, but it must've been a long time ago.
He may be small now, but he will grow to be around 85 pounds. He has a very sweet and friendly demeanor, and his humans plan on having him certified as a therapy dog for sick children when he's older.
Chief is extremely fluffy and surprisingly loves bath. In general, Chows will shed twice a year, but his humans brush him every day to avoid matting. Aside from baths and being Internet famous, Chief also loves belly rubs and taking naps with his humans, where they reside in California. Chief is still young and, for now, he's delighting tens of thousands of people through his Instagram account, @theoreocloud. Once he's ready, however, his adorable fluff will bring joy to those who need it most as a therapy dog for sick children.
About the Chow Chow: The Chow Chow, an all-purpose dog of ancient China, presents the picture of a muscular, deep-chested aristocrat with an air of inscrutable timelessness. Dignified, serious-minded, and aloof, the Chow Chow is a breed of unique delights.
Chows are powerful, compactly built dogs standing as high as 20 inches at the shoulder. Their distinctive traits include a lion's-mane ruff around the head and shoulders; a blue-black tongue; deep-set almond eyes that add to a scowling, snobbish expression; and a stiff-legged gait. Chows can have rough or smooth coats of red, black, blue, cinnamon, or cream.
Owners say Chows are the cleanest of dogs: They housebreak easily, have little doggy odor, and are known to be as fastidious as cats. Well-socialized Chows are never fierce or intractable, but always refined and dignified. They are aloof with strangers and eternally loyal to loved ones. Serene and adaptable, with no special exercise needs, Chows happily take to city life.
