Many people like to celebrate their holidays with fireworks, but a happy celebration show for people can be a terrifying nightmare for our pets. Many owners have spent their vacations calming dogs who are afraid of loud noises.
And every year on July 4th, the biggest fireworks night in the United States, there are many cases where dogs run away from home because they are scared. However, after the pet went missing for days, a group of kayaks came to the rescue.
When they realized that the dog needed urgent help, they decided to take it with them. They appeared at just the right time. “If we didn’t take her from the river, there was no way to take her from the riverbank,” kayaker Shakira Sias told KCCI. “Now the water is so high that she would have been washed away in it.” They checked her collar and found that the dog’s name was ethyl, a 10-year-old boxer. They could also contact Ethyl’s owner and found that the dog had escaped from fireworks on July 3 and had been missing for six days. A member of the Jessica Rose group who took ethyl recorded the story on TikTok. She said Ethyl was scared and tired and covered with ticks. The dog was very hungry and the they gave her cheetos. It was the only food they had available. They also gave her water. Despite the trials, Ethyl quietly accepts a downstream kayak trip, as if she finally knew she was going home. “She was upset and scared,” Jessica told KCCI. “But I don’t know. About two hours later she got up. She was happy. She really liked to float in the river.” A group of good Samaritans planned to reunite Ethyl with his family. In an updated video, Jess says her owner’s son picked up the dog and she had no major health problems while she was malnourished. She has been treated for ticks and is hydrated. The owner, who was having a wedding when they found Ethyl along the river, was excited to bring the dog back. Jess says the dog was “as happy as possible” as the owner snuggled up to Ethyl all day long. They said they had plans to meet Ethyl and her family soon. The old dog was clearly very grateful to go home thanks to the kind rescuers.
