This was the burning question Japanese photographer Hisakata Hiroyuki wanted to answer, and surprisingly, turn into his quirky passion project. Sadly, he couldn’t find any ninja cats to boss around.

In a difficult yet awesome artistic process, he shutter-captures pictures of cats leaping in midair and chooses the ones that look like they’re fighting with catnip stealers

We can imagine just how much time and patience you have to have just to pull this sort of thing off, and that’s what makes this project awesome. Plus, we bet his cats make awesome icebreakers at parties.
