Your current needle knitting project A clip or removable sewing pen A hook slightly smaller or the same size as your knitting needles. Follow the ladder created by the stitch below until you find the loop that is the top of the seam.
Attach a paperclip or removable stitch marker to the loop to catch the stitch. This will prevent the seam from falling out further before you have a chance to fix it.
If you have already worked the dropped stitch, keep working until you get back to where that column should be on your needle.
Remove the paper clip or stitch marker and thread the hook through the stitch loop. Place your crochet hook under the lowest "rung" of the ladder. Pull the step through the seam and let the seam fall off the hook. Step now create a new stitch on your crochet hook. Repeat steps 2-3 until you reach the top of your braid. Move the last loop of your crochet hook to the left needle and continue knitting your project.
Now that you know how to fix a dropped seam, you can use this technique to correct other mistakes. If you knit a stitch when you need to dodge or shrink a stitch that you need to knit, you don't need to untie a ton of rows to correct the mistake! You can simply put a seam on the mistake and fix it while climbing the ladder. Check the error you want to correct. Here I accidentally undressed where I needed to knit. Knit your way until the seam falls off. Remove the stitch from your needle and let it unravel. You may need to pull the seam to make it fall off. Remove your marker and let the stitching fall one line below the mistake. Put your crochet needle in the stitch. Tie down to the end of the spine, making sure the fabrics and shawls are oriented the right way. When you tie your way using this technique, you will create knit stitches on the side facing you. If you want to reverse stitch on this side, reverse your work to work on the opposite side. This works because the opposite side of a right point is an inverse point. Put the stitch back on the left needle and continue with your project.
