For this tutorial, we used yarn and pony beads to create a pattern with three colors so that everything is easy to see.
. You may want to practice with pony beads and a large crochet hook as well until you become familiar with the stitch.
Once you've learned the technique, try making different patterns with our PDF Pattern Diagrams
Take a look at our Related below the instructions for full step-by-step instructions and supplies lists for these beaded crochet rope patterns and more.
Form a slip knot at the end of the crochet thread. Insert the crochet hook through the loop. Grab the thread with crochet hook and pull it through the loop to form one chain stitch
You will want to create one more chain stitch than the total number of desired beads per row. For this tutorial we want five beads per row, so we will create six chain stitches.
Insert your crochet hook through the first chain stitch that you made. Pull the thread through that stitch and through the loop on your crochet hook. This will create a ring.
Repeat Step four until your ring has the number of beads desired for the first row of your rope. In this case that is five beads.
Insert your crochet hook into the loop under the first bead. Bring your thread from the right side of your bead across the front of your bead and to the left. Push a new bead along your thread until it rests near the first bead.
