Couple Drives For Hours To Save Grandfather’s Dog Before He Is Left Alone

It is heartbreaking to think about the number of animals left behind after the death of their elderly owners.

For the overweight Australian Shepherd, the future is bleak after the death of his owner from COVID-19. When the owner’s grandson, Ashton Hart, heard the news, he wondered if his grandfather had a pet that needed a new home.

Hart hasn’t spoken to his grandfather in 6 years, so he’s not sure what animal he has, but when he found out he had a dog, he knew he had to get there quickly to save his grandfather’s furry friend.

Her grandfather’s dog, now named Oatmilk Latte, had most likely been shot down, so she and her husband decided to drive for three hours to save him.

“It wasn’t a question (if) we would adopt him — my husband has wanted a dog for a while, and we’ve just started parenting and will start volunteering at PAWS to try and find new friends,” she said. Hart to The Dodo.
