Border Collie Saves Entire Flock Of Sheep From Australia Wildfire
Corryong, Victoria, is like the rest of Australia currently battling devastating wildfires.
Almost half a billion animals are estimated to have died in Australia so far as a result of the fires, and while the country’s wild animals are most vulnerable, countless farm animals are also perishing.
Recently, a flock of sheep in Corryong nearly met their end as a wall of fire crept towards them over the farmland.
But Patsy, a six-year-old border collie, and her unnamed owner bravely came to the rescue.

Patsy fearlessly rounded up the sheep and herded them into the safest paddock on the farm. After the talented dog got the sheep to safety, she stayed by her owner’s side until the fire had advanced close enough that he could get his tractor and a tank of water and attempt to fight the fire. Cath Hill, sister of Patsy’s owner, shared a chilling picture of Patsy with the raging wall of fire in the background that shows the severity of the situation.

Thanks to Patsy’s bravery, the majority of the sheep survived, and thanks to her owner the silage, shearing shed, farmhouses and hay bales were also spared. Now, Patsy is being praised by her community and hailed as a hero.

Everyone is in awe of this heroic pup and Hill published a video of Patsy on Facebook where she praises the pup for her good work and the rescued sheep are shown in the background.

In the post Hill also named a number of bushfire relief fundraisers that Patsy and her family would love for people to support.
