For a baby wild animal is crucial to get its mom protection and love in its first weeks of life. Therefore, when tragedies occurs and those little creature became orphaned, their fate is almost sealed as their chances to survive in the wild by their own are extremely low. It’s also the case of this fox cub.
Dinozzo lost its mom in a car accident when it was only three weeks old. Fortunately for the little helpless creature, it got rescued by the authorities and then handed over to a vet hospital. But, the little Dinozzo has soon found a fever home.
Werner and Angelika Schmaing from Oberscheld, Germany decide to share their home with the little fox cub. The animal-loving couple also own an adorable collie, named Ziva, a bengal cat, named Leopold and two piglets.
While all the animals have welcomed the little one as it was one of their own, Ziva was the one whose motherly instincts helped Dinozzo to get over the lost of its mom.
"Ziva and Leopold fell in love with the little fox immediately. Our collie acts as a foster mum for the little ones. The interaction of animals is very much like siblings in a family," Werner said.
We've often heard of beautiful friendships among animals of different species, but this seems to be more than that. Ziva is both mother and best friend for the rescued fox cub. And now, they're inseparable.
"They are mostly peaceful, often playful and sometimes tired – sleeping together in one place," Dinozzo's adopting parent said. "The fox has gotten used to getting in and out of the house through the cats door,"Werner also said.
