As you might already know lionesses are very protective of their babies. Well, all mothers are protective of their babies. Moreover, lionesses hide their babies for like the first six months after their birth. It is hard for them to defend themselves or even run from another predator at this age.
But that doesn't count their own fathers. Male lions usually drive their cubs out of pride, but that's after two years. Until then, even the king of the jungle cannot resist those playful cubs.
In this case however, this father lion caught by the lioness fighting with their daughter. Not actually 'fighting' fighting, just playfully fighting with the cub. Unfortunately lioness didn't tolerate this behavior. She immediately broke up the fight to 'scold' the father. Maybe she thought the papa lion is being too rough with the cub. The cub is named Lusaka. As any cub would, she also is very fond of her father.
She drags her father into playing with her as she runs around while her father is chasing her. It doesn't take much longer to father to knock her down and then there were fighting as Lusaka trying her best to beat her dad and stand on her feet again. That is when the lioness spotted them and broke up the fight. These photos are captured by Jennifer Lockridge.
